Wild Food Workshop with Medway Community Forest and Mersey River Chalets
June 23 @ 1:30 pm - 6:30 pm| $65
We are teaming up with Medway Community Forest Co-Op and Mersey River Chalets to bring you an afternoon of wild delights! We will start off with an introduction on wild foods in Nova Scotia and then proceed on a walk to identify and harvest some wild edibles in the beautifully managed community forest in Queens County, Nova Scotia. Afterwards we will return to the Mersey River Chalets to feast upon our foraged fare. Cooking will be hands on, so you will learn how to prepare wild food in various ways.
The Medway Community Forest is located in Queens County, Nova Scotia, close to the provincial jewel of Kejimkujik National Park. The Mersey River Chalets has a variety of tranquil, nature focused accommodations which you may rent at additional cost if you’d like to make a memorable weekend out of this event. Come and learn about wild edibles with us while sleeping among old growth hemlock along the Mersey River.
